When Life Feels Stuck: A Conversation with Jen Klassen

Some conversations stick with you long after they’re over. Sitting down with Jen Klassen, founder of Threshold Coaching, was one of those.

Jen has this calm, grounded way about her that makes you feel comfortable almost instantly. The kind of person who actually listens when you talk, not just waits for their turn to speak. And once she starts sharing her story, you realize pretty quickly that this isn’t just a business for her. It’s personal.

Jen works with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or standing at a crossroads in life. Career changes, burnout, big transitions, identity shifts, you name it. She helps people slow down, get clear, and move forward with intention. As she explained it to me, she’s there to support people through their “threshold moments,” those in-between stages where you know something needs to change, but you’re not quite sure what’s next.

One thing she said that really landed for me was how often people wait until they’re completely depleted before asking for help. “Most people come to coaching when they’re already exhausted,” Jen shared. “But it doesn’t have to get that far.”

She talked about how coaching isn’t about fixing anyone. It’s about helping people reconnect with themselves, identify what actually matters, and start making choices that feel aligned again. No pressure. No judgment. Just honest conversations and practical tools to help you move forward.

What really deepened my respect for Jen is the work she’s also doing through Daughters of Dementia, a space she created to support women caring for parents with dementia. This isn’t theory for her. Jen is walking this road herself, and she knows firsthand how heavy, isolating, and emotionally complex caregiving can be.

Through Daughters of Dementia, she helps women feel less alone while navigating grief, responsibility, and the slow changes that come with watching a parent fade. It’s raw, compassionate work, and you can feel how much heart she puts into holding space for others who are going through something incredibly hard.

Jen also has a great sense of humor about the coaching process. She laughed when she said, “Sometimes people come in thinking coaching means I’ll tell them what to do. I won’t. But I will help you hear yourself more clearly.”

That pretty much sums it up.

Whether you’re navigating a career shift, feeling burned out, caring for a loved one, or simply craving more clarity in your life, Jen offers a safe, supportive space to figure things out. If you’ve been feeling like something needs to change but can’t quite put your finger on it, this might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
