How Michele Partridge Helps People Build the Confidence to Show Up as Their Best Selves
There are some people you meet who have a way of making you feel more confident just by being in the same room with them.
Michele Partridge is one of those people.
When Michele walked into the studio for our Best of White Rock interview, she brought the kind of energy that immediately makes you sit up a little straighter. She’s warm, engaging, and has the rare ability to make you feel like she sees the best version of you, even before you see it yourself.
And that, in a nutshell, is exactly what she does.
Michele is the founder of Your Confidence Coach, where she helps people build confidence in business, public speaking, acting, and life in general.
If you’ve ever walked into a room and felt like everyone was judging you, or if you’ve replayed a conversation in your head wondering why you said that thing you wish you hadn’t said, Michele gets it.
Because she’s been there herself.
Believe it or not, Michele described herself as painfully shy growing up.
Hard to imagine now.
Today, she commands a room with ease, but her journey started in Grade 9 drama class when she found what she called “my people.”
For the first time, she was surrounded by creative, expressive people who made her feel like she belonged.
That experience changed everything.
It led to a decades-long career in acting, teaching, film production, and even a fascinating stint at Electronic Arts, where she was part of the early team that helped develop what eventually became The Sims.
Yes, that The Sims.
If you’ve ever spent hours deciding whether your virtual family should have a swimming pool or a suspiciously ladder-free backyard, you have Michele and her team to thank.
But as interesting as her résumé is, what stood out most to me was how clearly Michele understands the stories we tell ourselves.
The voice in your head that says:
“You’re going to look stupid.”
“You’re not good enough.”
“Who do you think you are?”
Michele sees that inner critic all the time.
In fact, when I asked what she sees most often in her clients, she didn’t hesitate.
“Everyone has a fear of looking stupid.”
That one sentence hit home.
Because if we’re being honest, that fear stops a lot of us from doing the things we know we should do.
Speaking up in a meeting.
Asking for a raise.
Starting a business.
Recording a video.
Walking into a networking event.
Or simply introducing ourselves to someone new.
Michele helps people recognize that fear for what it is: a story.
And stories can be rewritten.
One of the first exercises she gives clients is deceptively simple.
She asks them to write down ten words that describe themselves.
Sounds easy.
Apparently, it’s not.
Many people struggle because they’ve spent so much time focusing on what they’re not that they’ve never really considered who they are.
That’s where Michele’s work becomes so powerful.
She helps people identify their strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and start showing up with more authenticity.
And yes, sometimes that includes videotaping clients so they can see how they actually present themselves.
I suspect this is equal parts enlightening and mildly horrifying.
But incredibly effective.
Michele’s background in acting gives her a unique perspective.
Actors have to understand body language, tone of voice, presence, and how to connect with an audience.
Those same skills are invaluable whether you’re giving a keynote speech, pitching a client, or trying not to mumble your way through an introduction.
One of my favorite things Michele said was this:
“If you are not your biggest cheerleader, nobody else will believe it.”
That’s a powerful reminder.
Confidence is not about pretending to be someone you’re not.
It’s about trusting that who you already are is enough.
Michele also talks about the importance of perspective.
You can focus on what’s wrong, or you can focus on what’s possible.
That simple shift changes everything.
As she put it, “Positive attracts positivity.”
And after spending time with her, it’s hard not to believe that.
What I appreciate most about Michele is that she doesn’t promise magic.
She doesn’t wave a wand and make fear disappear.
She gives people practical tools, honest feedback, and a clear path forward.
But you still have to do the work.
As she says, “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”
Simple, but true.
If you’ve been holding yourself back, struggling with self-doubt, or feeling like you’re capable of more than you’re currently showing the world, Michele can help.
